Unity Theatre presents Over the River and Through the Woods, a comedy by Joe DiPietro playing on the Main Stage June 11 – 28, 2026.

Every Sunday, Nick crosses the river to New Jersey and has dinner with both sets of his Italian American grandparents. But Nick has dreams, and when he receives the perfect job offer from the west coast, he is determined to take it. But the job would take him away from his family and his grandparents are just as determined keep him close. Thus begins a series of shameless schemes to keep Nick around including inviting to dinner the lovely, and single, Caitlin O’Hare as bait.

Enter Gerald Strange, a handsome and charming gentleman, who shares her longing for adventure and sweeps her off her feet. After a whirlwind romance she leaves her home, friends and fiancée, and moves to a remote country cottage with her new husband. But she soon discovers, terrifyingly, that things are not what they appear to be.
