Crack Open Your Creativity for the Holiday Art Walk!

Get ready to make downtown sparkle! As part of our magical holiday season in Downtown Brenham, Main Street Brenham invites local families, students, artists, clubs, and businesses to participate in our annual Holiday Art Walk art competition. Festive wooden "nutcracker" cut-outs are waiting to be transformed by your imagination!

2026 Contest Guidelines

1. With help from artists in the community, Main Street Brenham will again bring art to the streets of downtown and invite adult and student artists to participate. Wooden cut-outs of wreaths may be painted and/or decorated with the theme of "Winter Holidays".
2.  Enter by going to jingle.cityofbrenham.org by November 4, 2026!
3. Wooden cut-outs for entrants are available to pick up on November 5^th- 13th at City Hall between 8am and 5PM.
4. Decorated wreath entries are judged in two categories: Adults (18 years and older) and Student (under 18 years).
5. Objects may be attached to the gift, making sure to attach in such a way that it cannot be easily removed and is weather resistant.

6. Artists are encouraged to use creativity and innovation. Please remember this is a public art exhibition and the audience consists of all ages and backgrounds.
7. The artworks are displayed outdoors. Please keep weather and other elements of nature and logistics of display in mind while designing your piece. Your art will need to be weighted with sandbags or other stabilizing items.
8. Main Street supplies signage which includes the artists' name and the name of the “Nutcracker”.
9. Please deliver finished nutcrackers to your display location between November 20th and 23rd. Your specific display location will be sent via email to you at the email address given on the entry form.
10. Judges Awards are determined (one adult and one student) based solely on the judges discretion. There is no public voting.
